The picture shows the strait between Istria and the northeast coast of the island of Cres with the still existing luminescent glow near Porozina on Cres. There is also a steamship of the ferry line between Porozina and Brestova. — The leaf is part of a series of 35 aquarelles of the "most outstanding, due to their location or history the most curious light fires of the Austrian coastal country", which was commissioned by the Emperor in 1885.
